Now officially renamed as Nova School of Business and Economics, the institution was started as the Faculdade de Economia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, abbreviated as FEUNL is a Portuguese faculty of Economic and Management sciences, located on the New University of Lisbon's Campus de Campolide in Lisbon.
It is a highly prestigious, albeit recent institution, often topping national rankings in terms of teaching and academic research in the field of Economics. Its students have traditionally faced one of the highest employability rates in the entire country.
Very focused on internationalisation, it offers a wide series of English-language courses and holds international exchange protocols with currently 128 universities on all continents including the London School of Economics, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University and the Helsinki School of Economics. The university offers annual one-week study trips to Brazil, New York, Shanghai, Madrid, London, Brussels, and others.
Its current director is Prof. Dr. José Ferreira Machado. The faculty is housed on a beautiful 18th century palace which formerly served a Jesuit college.
It has been a member of CEMS since December 2007. Moreover, it is one of 44 Triple Crown business schools worldwide which implies accreditation by EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB. It has been the first Portuguese business school to acquire international accreditations.
